The less efficient a home, the more solar panels could help

Britons may have already opted to make their
central heating systems more energy efficient by having a
new boiler installed as part of the government's scrappage scheme.
And now, thanks to a strategy announced this week by the Department of Energy and Climate Change, investing in renewable technology could also be easier and more affordable.
Under the new scheme, Britons can apply for a loan to put towards making their homes more efficient and then pay this back through their energy bills.
When deciding what technology is best to invest in, Gareth Kloet, head of utilities at Confused.com, said: "The amount of money you'll save is directly attributable to the cost of installing the energy saving measure and the amount of wasted energy you can reduce."
He added that a home which had virtually zero efficiency would see more cost savings as a result of such measures, than those which were reasonably green.
Mr Kloet concluded that reducing emissions and generating more sustainable power - such as through solar panels - appears to be a common objective for everyone.
