Feed-in solar power tariff 'saving Brits money'The Feed-In Tariff will prompt more homeowners to invest in solar panels to boost their hot water and central heating systems, it has been claimed.

Solar Panels Quotations explains that the scheme has a number of benefits for the country, such as creating jobs, ensuring a more secure supply of energy that does not rely on finite resources and reducing carbon emissions.

Indeed, the company notes: "Fossil fuel power will effectively be replaced with clean technologies, which will result in a net decrease of carbon emissions."

While in the past, renewable energy technology has encountered difficulty when competing with traditional power suppliers, the scheme has helped to level a playing field, the firm concludes.

Under the Feed-In Tariff, people who have invested in solar panels will be paid by their energy supplier for the power they generate.

In addition, they can expect to reduce their annual utility bills significantly and could even receive a tax-free sum of cash if they direct any excess power to the National Grid.
