Brosnan embraces solar power in new home
Article date : 21/07/2010

When he played James Bond, Pierce Brosnan was driving fast cars and using the latest gadget, but he is now embracing the benefits of solar power.
The 53-year-old is moving into a purpose-built beachfront mansion in Malibu, Los Angeles, including all the trappings one might expect from the rich and famous such as an outdoor swimming pool and a guest cabana, the Mirror reports.
However, all these mod cons are powered by renewable energy from solar panels installed on the roof of the exclusive California pad.
Furthermore, lights in each room of the property turn off automatically if the spaces have been empty for more than five minutes.
The former 007 also has a solar-powered revolving compost heap in the grounds of his new green energy home.
Another celebrity eco-warrior who made efforts to help the environment recently was singer Lily Allen, who ventured out to the Amazon as part of a scheme to raise awareness about the ever-shrinking Brazilian rainforest.
