Businesses to get tips on how to lower energy bills

Article date : 09/09/2008

A free Energywise seminar will provide businesses in Worcester with tips on how to lower their gas and electricity bills.

Local environment group One Planet Worcester has organised the event which could not only save businesses hundreds of pounds, but could help cut carbon emissions, the Worcester News claims.

“We believe we can help local businesses make significant savings on energy," spokesman of the group Robert Wilkins tells the newspaper.

“About two-thirds of a shop's energy bill comes from heating and lighting."

The event will be held at the Worcester College of Technology on September 24th and will include speakers from Marks & Spencer and Worcester Bosch, the paper says.

Posters and stickers are available from the Carbon Trust website to remind employees of ways to reduce carbon emissions in their work place.

Condensing boilers
are one way to reduce costs, the Energy Saving Trust says, which adds that a boiler is a high efficiency condensing boiler if it is A-rated according to SEDBUK ratings.
