Britons should consider switching energy suppliers now in order to lower their home heating bills when winter arrives, a claim has suggested.
Individuals who are worried what turning up the temperature on
radiators could do to their finances may be looking for ways to save money on bills.
Consumer watchdog Which? said all of the major energy firms have cut their prices, which makes now a good time to switch suppliers.
Alison Morrison, from Which? Switch, stated: "It seems strange to think about your heating bills in summer, but this is a decision that could benefit customers all year round."
By switching, Britons may no longer be worried about turning their
radiators up higher this winter in case they receive a sky-high bill in the post.
Radiators themselves can be made more energy efficient. As well as fitting them with
heating controls, which allow homeowners to manually change the temperature, the Energy Saving Trust advises that they are not blocked by curtains or furniture.
The devices should also be regularly bled so they work as efficiently as possible.
