Boost those radiators

As snow falls across the UK, Britons may be keen to hurry home from work and relax in a warm and cosy home.

However, there are a number of simple steps that can take to keep warm this winter without seeing their energy bills sky rocket.

Online resource Hippy Shopper advises placing a large sheet of foil behind all of a property's radiators - which may be towel radiators, remote control radiators or vertical radiators.

This can improve the efficiency of the heating devices by reflecting warm air back around the room, rather than allowing it to escape through a window or be absorbed into the wall.

And while specially designed radiator foil can be purchased from some stores, the article notes that basic kitchen foil can be just as effective.

It has previously been noted that the efficiency of radiators can also be boosted by taking the time to remove any trapped air from them.
