Britons looking to improve the energy efficiency of their
central heating systems have been advised to invest in
heating controls.
US company Johns Manville, which manufactures building materials, explains that
heating controls allow households to pre-set when their
central heating systems come on while they are asleep or away, which can reduce the overheating of property.
"A programmable thermostat lets homeowners regulate the temperature of their home to deliver savings without sacrificing comfort," the group asserts.
Furthermore, according to the Energy Saving Trust, using
heating controls in conjunction with a
condensing boiler could see annual energy bills being reduced by as much as a third.
Johns Manville recommends other energy efficient home improvements, including ensuring that windows and doors have been correctly draught-proofed.
And adding insulation to a loft is also advised, if Britons which to allow their
central heating systems to work without excess heat being lost, the group claims.
By carrying out such improvements, Britons may be able to see a return on their investment through cheaper utility bills.
