Brits 'spending £18,500 annually on bills'
Article date : 21/07/2010

Every year, Britons are spending an average of £18,500 on their bills, new research has found.
According to Confused.com, in one month £1,541.91 will be spent on utility bills, rent or mortgage, shopping and other payments.
In addition, over the last 12 months the cost of living has increased by £642.12 from the £17,860.74 recorded one year ago.
"Times have been tough for a few years and people are really noticing the difference in their bank balances. With many people still feeling the effects of the recession, paying the bills is yet another money worry," a spokesperson for the price comparison site said.
In order to reduce some of these costs, Britons may wish to invest in making their homes more energy efficient.
This could include bringing
central heating systems up to date by having a
condensing boiler and
heating controls fitted, which the Energy Saving Trust claims could save people some £235 on their annual bills.
