Britons are increasingly taking steps to beat the housing slump by ploughing their money back into their existing properties, according to new research.
Indeed, Unbiased.co.uk has revealed that eight per cent of property owners in the UK are hoping their home improvement schemes will increase the value of their house.
And while 15 per cent hoped their plans would increase the living space of their home, 66 per cent were hoping to create a more personal atmosphere around their property.
One way to boost a property's value may be to give
central heating systems a green makeover as the Energy Saving Trust claims that lower bills could attract buyers.
However, those considering taking this path by purchasing an energy-efficient
condensing boiler should contact a Gas Safe registered boiler engineer to carry out the work.
Meanwhile, a new study by AA Personal Loans has revealed that a quarter of UK properties are set to have grown in size before the end of the recession due to Britons' renovation ambitions.
