New boiler and
central heating installation could be becoming more popular for homeowners in Britain as interest rates on savings fall.
Indeed, more people are now opting to carry out home improvement tasks, one expert says.
Stephanie Lee, sales designer at Avanti Kitchens and Bathrooms, said that as people are choosing not to move house, they are opting for renovations at their current abode.
Some changes being made may indeed help to save money in the long run. Installing a
low cost combi boiler may be one way to help reduce bills, as energy efficiency can improve.
Ms Lee said: "People are deciding that they are going to stay where they are and they are going to renovate and, because they are not getting any interest on their money, they think they may as well spend it."
And individuals are not limiting the size of their home improvement projects as a result of the current downturn, Ms Lee added. Larger tasks, such as installing new central heating, may still be being carried out.
