Britons who have recently invested in a French holiday home may have enjoyed visiting over the summer while the weather was warm, but may feel that it will be too cold to stay on over the winter.
However, help is at hand for people who wish to get year-round enjoyment from their investment, as one online resource has offered tips on the most popular forms of
central heating systems available across the Channel.
French Property News advises that
central heating systems which feature an oil or
gas boiler and
radiators are available in France and that underfloor heating may also be an efficient option.
It adds that underfloor heating can also be a cheaper alternative to
radiators, saving up to 25 per cent off bills when used in conjunction with a
condensing boiler.
"
Central heating systems are clean and simple to operate, can be pre-programmed and may be the only option if your house is not occupied throughout the day," it notes.
The resource adds that solar panels, a wood-burning stove, open fire or ground source heat pump are other suitable ways to heat a French property.
And Britons may wish to take the time to check their
central heating systems are as efficient as they could be ahead of the winter.
