Could a self-build be the perfect home?Written by Jasper Cullen

More people are considering a self-build project when it comes to moving from their existing property, it has been revealed.

A survey by Ratedpeople.com found that 70 per cent of homeowners would consider designing and building their own house when it comes to making their next property move.

The group notes that such action could see more people benefiting from a house that perfectly suits their individual needs.

And such Britons may also find they can include central heating systems customised to what they are after - which may include a condensing boiler or combination boiler, solar panels or rainwater harvesting system.

"Those who decide self-build is for them, have a unique opportunity to create a dream property from the foundations up, so it's not surprising that self-build is growing in popularity," said marketing director of Ratedpeople.com Ottokar Rosenberger.

Britons undergoing such a project and looking at what central heating systems would suit it best may wish to talk to a member of Gas Safe Register for advice.
