Architects told to remember renewables

Architects and Britons planning their own grand designs in the UK have been told to plan ahead if they wish to implement renewable energy technology, such as a biomass
boiler.
Speakers at the Ignition 09 exhibition in Gateshead said that such technology could not simply be fitted at a later date, as some property professionals had found that when they came to fit the device they had not included enough room in their plans, New Energy Focus notes.
Sam Whatmore, managing director of woodchip supply company Forest Fuels, said: "With oil and gas you can think about that later - you can pipe them around corners, but the same cannot be said for wood fuel. We've seen buildings where there's no access for fuel suppliers."
However, Britons can still go green in their own homes without having to forward-plan to such a degree.
In a short amount of time, a household could hire a
boiler engineer to install a brand new
condensing boiler which will reduce their carbon footprint by being more energy efficient than traditional
gas boilers.
In addition, Britons who take this course of action could find themselves saving as much as £275 on their annual heating bills.
