Eco-friendly showerheads can be used with modern combi and
condensing boilers to save money, according to an article in The Risk Collective.
Defra-approved water-saving replacement flowpoint showerheads could save consumers up to 60 per cent, or £160 per year, in shower water and energy bills, the article claims.
According to a September Defra National Statistics report more people in the UK, compared with two years ago, are more aware of the amount of water used in the home.
More than two-thirds (68 per cent) of those surveyed by the government department said that they now took showers instead of a bath.
While the showerheads are said to work well with both combi and
condensing boilers, the boilers themselves could also help homes to raise their efficiency.
The Energy Saving Trust recommends
condensing boilers as a means through which households can reduce their expenditure on utility bills.
