As UK households look for new ways to reign in their spending in order to save money during the recession, home improvements are one area where few are willing to cut back.
Indeed, new research by Legal & General reveals that just 28 per cent of Britons are looking to cut back on their property improvement ambitions, in comparison to the 30 per cent who are considering abandoning their foreign holiday plans.
Furthermore, while 42 per cent are now eating out less, 54 per cent have put a budget on their shopping sprees.
"It is clear by the number of people looking to save money across all aspects of their home life that the majority of us are feeling the pinch," Garry Skelton, marketing director at Legal & General's general insurance business, noted.
Home improvement enthusiasts may wish to consider a new
condensing boiler as one of their investments.
Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at uSwitch.com, recently stated that the money a
new boiler saves on energy bills could be re-invested into making a property greener.
