Green products 'should be shouted about'

Products that can make homes more energy efficient and allow people to lead greener lives should be shouted about, one sector commentator has urged.
Katie Keegan, editor of Ethical Pulse, said information about the carbon footprint of such devices, as well as its social impact, should also be made available to consumers at the point of purchase.
However, she noted that some companies - even if they had a desirable product - were not as good at promotion.
This meant that it came down to the customer to ask advice on a product's green credentials.
"The credit crunch is making people be more thrifty, but being green and ethical shouldn't actually cost more, it should cost less," Ms Keegan explained.
Britons seeking advice on buying an energy efficient
new boiler may wish to consult their
boiler engineer.
A recent poll by Lychgate Projects for the Energy Saving Trust revealed that 81 per cent of plumbers said they would be able to give the consumers who hired them advice on going green.
