A new housing development in the north-east of England has lowered its carbon footprint thanks to the inclusion of highly efficient
boilers, it is noted.
In an article for Newcastle's the Journal, Karen Overbury describes Culsmore's the Steadings development, situated in the village of Warkworth, in Northumberland as being eco-friendly.
In addition to underfloor heating, double glazing and renewable solar power, the properties all feature highly efficient
boilers, she asserts.
Combined, these features have helped the houses to "achieve a minimal carbon footprint", she notes.
While homeowners may not be able to pack up and move to one of the new buildings, they could take inspiration by taking action against their own carbon footprints.
The Energy Saving Trust suggests that this may be achieved with a
new boiler.
Opting for a
combination boiler or a
condensing boiler could both be eco-friendly options as the devices are more energy efficient than the older types of
gas boiler, it states.
