Combi boiler systems have been installed at 18 new affordable homes in the Treleigh area of Redruth, it has been revealed.
The apartments, bungalows and houses meet the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 because of their energy efficiency, boosted in part by the presence of
combi boilers, 24dash reported.
As well as
combi boilers, the new properties also boast improved levels of insulation and solar panels, which make them green but also reduce future running costs for customers, Coastline Housing told the online resource.
Coastline Housing unveiled the accommodation, which cost £2.3 million to develop, although funding came from a number of sources including Cornwall Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.
"We are delighted to provide 21st century homes for local people and regenerate a once derelict site," Robert Nettleton, chief executive of Coastline Housing, told the resource.
The Energy Saving Trust notes that
combi boilers are most suited to smaller homes which use small amounts of hot water.
