New boiler 'can attract buyers'

New boiler 'can attract buyers'Last year, the housing market slump teamed with the recession may have put many homeowners off from selling their house in order to climb further up the property ladder.

However, today, with the economy showing signs of recovery, consumers may feel now is the time to move on and could be considering the best ways to attract buyers.

And they may wish to place a particular focus on the energy efficiency of their home, with research by Pilkington revealing 76 per cent of buyers feel this is a priority when they are looking for a new home.

Of these, 79 per cent felt an energy efficient boiler was the most important feature for a new home to boast, while 74 per cent asserted they would look out for greener central heating systems.

Presenter of Channel 4's The Home Show George Clarke said: "What's important is that people are taking steps to change and recognising the added value greener living brings, such as cost savings and increasing the saleability of homes."

Britons hoping to attract buyers to their property by investing in a new boiler may find if they are eligible for the government's scrappage scheme they can secure £400 off the cost of a condensing boiler.
