How landlords could benefit from new boiler
Article date : 26/02/2010

Tenants looking for homes to rent can be most attracted to properties which offer the promise of low energy bills and reduce carbon emissions, it has been stated.
The Energy Saving Trust notes landlords must now show the Energy Performance Certificate score of any property they are planning to let to the person viewing it.
In light of this, making the home more energy efficient could prove worthwhile and see more people looking to rent it.
Such improvements may include giving
central heating systems an update by investing in a
condensing boiler, which, combined with the correct
heating controls, can reduce annual utility bills by as much as a third.
This may see more people looking to move in due the knowledge they can benefit from savings on their bills.
Both landlords and tenants can also apply to the trust for money off a highly efficient
condensing boiler.
Such action may prove advisable, after Alan Ward, chairman of the Residential Landlords Association, said demand in the UK for properties to rent is likely to prove strong for some time to come.
